Today is a great day to start to take action and become truly environmentally friendly! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Don't Litter, Cycle, Car Pool, install Solar Panels, or even volunteer for a green project! The options are endless for you to help keep it clean & keep it green! 

In honor of Earth Day we wanted to take a moment to share with you all the ways we work tirelessly to ensure every aspect of our business is eco friendly! 

1. We find fun ways to recycle scrap materials from products in order to avoid any extra waste. Ever joined us for an event? You may have seen our fun mini bow ties which we put on bottles or puppy bow ties every so often, well those are all crafted with extra materials from our knitted products! Treated yourself to our travel bags? You guessed it, those are made with scrap material from our ties!

2. All of our materials are sourced from top local suppliers from within 100km of our family owned factory in Lake Como. Sourcing materials locally not only helps independent businesses but also cuts down on our carbon footprint as we do not need to have materials shipped from abroad. 

3. We take great measures to ensure the local suppliers we work with uphold and practice the same responsibilities when it comes to being eco-friendly. 

4. Our factory in Lake Como runs partially on solar panels and practices recycling and composting!

5. A collection of our socks and scarves are crafted with organic cotton and bamboo viscose! We use these materials for the advantages of using less pesticides, less water, organic cultivation, and overall the fact that we limit our impact on Earth.

6. Our shop is furnished with 100% recycled cardboard furniture! A fun way we promote eco-friendliness in design. 

7. Last but not least our entire London team commutes by bike!

We have officially launched our 40 Colori Women's Sock Collection!

Sunday March 13th we hosted a Football Match featuring our 40 Colori Italy based team versus our 40 Colori London based Team! This match was played both for charity and in memoriam of a beloved friend and player Giorgio whom we lost in 2014. Luck was on our side as the sun came out to shine perfectly on the day of our match! The match was a tight one but in the end our Italian based team were victorious with a 4-2 end score.

Following the match our teams cleaned themselves up and headed back to our Shoreditch shop for a proper after party celebration! We were a packed house full of delicious treats straight from Italy, stone baked pizzas, amazing local Brick Brewery craft beers, cupcakes and much more! During our event we celebrated our match and the funds we had raised from the event but we also hosted a 40 Colori Charity Raffle! Our raffle included a varied selection of 40 Colori products, a Gucci Watch, and lastly a Como Jersey! All of our raffle winners were ecstatic and the whole shop was shaking with applause and celebration cries! (Apologies to the residents of Cheshire Street for the rowdy Sunday night!)

As you can see from the photos, we had quite a wild night!

Now a moment to give a huge thank you shout out to our superb event sponsors! The lovely people at Vita Coco UK and Popchips UK were kind enough to send us some snacks and fuel for our event! All of the snacks and drinks were a huge hit! Without their generous contributions we would not have made as much as we did for The British Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund!

Especially now more than ever with London's temperatures dropping so quickly it's time to master bundling up. Not sure just how to stay warm this season? Well there's always the classic A Christmas Story Bundled Up Randy look!

You may have heard that we opened our very first boutique this past month, if you haven't now you know!

After months of searching for a location that wanted us and that we felt would be the best first location for 40 Colori we found it on the lovely Cheshire Street in Shoreditch. Once we got the keys to 40 Colori's new home things got moving.

Things got moving all the way back in our factory in Como, Italy. Our factory owner drove a truck all the way from Italy to London carrying all of the furniture for our store (most of which we had hand made in Italy) and all of our products. (Have I mentioned that all our products are made in Italy? Well they sure are!) Total driving time from Como, Italy to Shoreditch, London you ask? A whole 24 hours! After arriving at the shop around midnight we unpacked, and my goodness you can't even imagine the amount of stuff they were able to fit into this truck. It seemed like a magic truck that actually expanded from within like the closet to Narnia. We successfully unpacked everything, had indian take out as you do at 1 am, then headed home to get some much needed rest. The next day we went to the shop and started the marathon of 14 hour plus work days to get the store ready. The next 5 days of building were a whirlwind but it was worth it all! Here's a few snap shots from our time building!

We have been receiving great reactions to our shops interior! Everyone has been loving it which is exactly what we were hoping for! With that said we need to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who helped us in these early stages. A huge thank you needs to be expressed to Nardi Mobili for crafting our custom 100% recycled cardboard furniture. A huge thank you to the team over at Finch Interiors whom created the vision of the our interior design. How amazing is it stumbling upon companies that end up being the perfect match for what you need and they 100% understand what you are looking for? It's a damn gem when you find a companies like this & we will always give our seal of approval for Finch Interiors making interiors that stand out and Nardi Mobili for crafting amazing eco-friendly furniture.
